There are those who want to change, to transform at the core of their being. And yet there are also those who would stay the same, who seem to fear change, and even revel in the chaotic energies of the past; negative energies which are still far too prevalent here.

An essay on human love

When I first came to this planet, it must have been with the understanding that this was a lifetime to be lived learning how to love and be loved. Is this so much different from anyone else? I don’t think so. But I do know that for me this has been my primary purpose.

I know, too, that the only thing I’ve ever really needed to do was allow myself to  be loved, to receive all the love which can come through me from this universe. I see now that each of us needs only to be a “loving person”, in order to receive as much love as we can each moment. A primary challenge we face is in learning what’s required of a loving person, one who is capable of receiving and giving love with confidence and awareness.

I am the River. I am not the channel. I am not the form I see when I look at me in a mirror. I could never be anything that easily defined. I am indefinable. I am nothing, and I am everything. I flow as a river, meandering from shore to shore, bumping over rapids, and cascading down waterfalls.

Sometimes, I see where the flow is taking me. Other times, I’m bounced along on the rocks, seemingly unaware there’s any course at all. Yet, when I see the truth of this river, when I see that I am the river itself, I am in complete bliss. Revelation is this way: In the moment we have it, we are complete. There can be no more to know, or to do. Revelation is as the sea, the ultimate destination of the river, always there waiting for us, once we’re done with the rocky journey.
